“Happy for a While”
“Happy For A While” wrestles with the sacrifices and uncertainties of devoting a life to music. The song’s personal lyric might justifiably be called confessional. But it’s no mopey plea for sympathy, much less pity. As Kevin Daniel observes, “Loneliness is an inherent part of being on the road and being an artist in general. You’re in your head a lot.” At this point in his life, there is nothing more important than making music. But that doesn’t mean he’s not nervous about finding a partner, stability and having a family one day. “Happy For A While,” is his first single from his upcoming album titled The Life and Adventures of Kevin Daniel. The collection captures stories of the road, life, loss and love with a musical backdrop of “big-city rock and down-home country, with bits of R&B, gospel and soul.”
