Spotify to merge Artists & Analytics tools—Spotify for Artists

May 17, 2020

This article first appeared in Spotify for Artists News | Spotify is bringing artist teams, labels and distributors to Spotify for Artists so you can manage your profile, see and analyze your data and pitch to playlists, together.

It’s been three years since Spotify first launched Spotify for Artists, and in that time they have claimed that hundreds of thousands of artists and their teams have come together to share great music with the world, pitch to playlists, use data to make decisions about release strategies and tour schedules, and connect with fans through profile tools and Canvas. They also launched Spotify Analytics which has become the place for labels and distributors to access data and pitch songs to playlists as they support their artists.

Over time, as Spotify has listened to feedback and seen how people use Spotify for Artists and Spotify Analytics, stating, “It’s been clear just how collaborative artists and their teams are in analyzing data and planning promotional strategies.” In an effort to empower artists, managers, and labels to work together as seamlessly as possible, Spotify is announcing that they’re bringing everyone together in one place: Spotify for Artists.

Now, with access to the same set of data and insights, and the ability to join in managing an artist’s presence across Spotify, this new iteration promises to foster better collaboration between teams—especially for artists signed to a label. For artists and managers already using Spotify for Artists, not much will change: You’ll still have the same access to your data and profile, and will still be able to pitch new releases to editorial and algorithmic playlists, upload a Canvas, and add an Artist Fundraising Pick, but will now benefit from having your whole team and label in one place.

To enable this, the Spotify team has made some changes to Spotify for Artists including: Team Management, Data & Analytics, Artist Profile, and Mobile App (please read full article for more about these features).

If you’ve never used Spotify for Artists, Spotify has shared all the useful things you can do with the tools, with some helpful case studies on this new site.

The team says will continue to bring Spotify Analytics users into Spotify for Artists over the coming months. Spotify Analytics users can expect to receive an email from us with next steps soon… READ FULL ARTICLE
