“I’m a Man You Don’t Meet Every Day” is an old Scottish / Irish folk song written from the point of view of a wealthy landowner who enjoys drinking and boasting about possessions. This version of the song’s first-person narrator is presented by a woman, despite the song’s masculine narrative, giving it an interesting twist. Áine’s introduction to the song came when a local in her family’s pub gave her The Pogues’ album.
