Danny Burns started singing “Danny Boy” with a pedal steel player a few years back at the house of blues in Cleveland. It was a hit so he worked out his own version of it. “I’ve always loved the Johnny Cash rendition of Danny Boy from the American recordings with Rick Rubin. Then I asked Tim O’Brien to cut it for me and his singing on this just made me weep,” says Danny Burns.
