Just after His resurrection, Jesus walked beside His disciples on the road to Emmaus but they failed to recognize Him. They broke bread together and as soon as Jesus gave them the bread their eyes were opened. He then vanished right before their eyes. Astonished, they asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” This song is about that burning within, and how we long for Jesus’ return just as the disciples.

- Georgia native John Waller first caught the attention of the Christian music community as frontman for the fan favorite, According to John (1996-2003).
