JOHN WALLER
“Hopes Up”
DESCRIPTION:
We all have had instances where we are told “not to get our hopes up”, yet we do anyway. Waller reflects on how his pursuit of music has led to high hopes and sometimes crushing disappointment. However, being so afraid of disappointment that you never put any skin in the game is no way to live. Waller ultimately encourages the listener not to put their hope in eternity, rather than this life now.
