Illect Recordings Signs Veteran Emcee Ozay Moore & Releases New EP

By starting at a young age, Ozay Moore (formerly known as Othello) boasts a music career spanning across 20 years, multiple groups, several continents and many releases. And now with a new partnership between Ozay and Illect Recordings, we can expect even more releases, starting with The Between Time EP, which was released today and available in its entirety to stream below.

“I believe Ozay Moore will add a unique approach and perspective to our roster,” says Illect Recordings, president and founder, Josh Niemyjski. “His focus on art as a tool to foster education and community is unique.  Combined with our track record, we’ll be able to expand Ozay and his audience.”

In addition to his lyrical contributions to hip hop, Ozay is also a community organizer, teacher and the director for Lansing, Michigan’s, All of the Above Creative, where Ozay uses his success and experience to mentor his local community.

Ozay Moore is a hip hop artist born in Seattle who now resides in Lansing, MI and serves as a community leader, educator and director of All of the Above Creative. He released his first internationally distributed album on Syntax Records in 2000 as part of the group Lojique. Later he formed the group Lightheaded with his friends Braille and Ohmega Watts and released several records. He has shared the stage with People Under the Stairs, Binary Star, Slick Rick, DeLa Soul, Prince Po (Organized Konfusion), Ludacris, Freeway, Propaganda among others. To learn more, visit:
