Official Video for New Single “The Mockingbird’s Voice” Debuts on The Bluegrass Situation
Rising Bluegrass band Lindley Creek is gearing up for the release of their anticipated debut album, Freedom, Love, And The Open Road. Set for release on August 7, 2020, the Jim VanCleve produced project marks their first national release via Pinecastle Records. To celebrate the launch, the band is excited to announce another new track from the record, “The Mockingbird’s Voice” (STREAM/BUY).
The haunting ballad showcases another side of Lindley Creek. Singing lead on the song is powerhouse vocalist Katie Greer. To accompany the release of “The Mockingbird’s Voice,” the band has teamed up with The Bluegrass Situation, who gave fans the exclusive premiere of the official video (watch below). The song also allows the rest of the family band members to shine as well, as Jase Greer and Kathie Greer both sing harmony vocals on the track. The video was shot on location in the scenic Missouri Ozarks.
The first taste of the new record came in the form of lead single, “I Gotta Go.” The breakup anthem has already struck a chord with Bluegrass audiences, peaking at No. 2 on the main Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart. The Ashby Frank written track was released in late March following the announcement of their signing with Pinecastle Records. Interestingly, one line from the song serves as the inspiration for the album title. The opening line says, “How does it feel to have never known freedom, love or the open road?”
What can fans expect from the upcoming album? Freedom, Love, And The Open Road features a variety of different elements and themes. Featuring 11 new recordings, the record includes a combination of tracks that hit the highest of highs, and the most heartbreaking lows by incorporating many different Americana, and even Gospel influences. Standout moments on the record include “Right Back Where I Started” which is an upbeat track featuring lead vocals from Jase Greer. Another standout is the heartfelt catchy “Home To You,” with Katie Greer taking her vocals to a new level on the edgy track.
The band will also be hitting the road to promote the new album later this year, however due the current COVID-19 outbreak, fans are encouraged to check latest tour dates on the band’s official website lindleycreek.com.
