PassAlong Networks Adds Syntax Distribution
April 1, 2008
Media distribution developer PassAlong Networks™ today announced the addition of Syntax Distribution’s music catalog to its StoreBlocks™ digital music library. Syntax Distribution is the most recent in a string of labels to distribute their music in MP3 format through PassAlong, other recent additions include Wind-up Records, Razor & Tie and Curb Records.
“Syntax Distribution’s catalog features an eclectic range of artists and boasts an impressive chart history,” said Dave Jaworski, co-founder and CEO of PassAlong Networks. “I know our customers will appreciate the addition of Syntax’s artists, especially since we are offering the music in MP3 format.”
Syntax Distribution is a San Diego-based privately-owned digital distributor and aggregator that offers a variety of genres including Christian rock, gospel and hip hop, among many others. Some of the distributor’s top artists include Juanita Bynum, Kevin Max, Tonex, RedCloud, Sackcloth Fashion, Phil Keaggy and P.O.D.
“PassAlong Networks has a strong tradition of working with independent labels similar in size and scope to us, so we’re excited to work with them to get our artists and their music in front of PassAlong’s large customer base,” said Brandon Musser, VP of Operations.
The addition of Syntax Distribution immediately adds more than 6,000 tracks to PassAlong’s current music catalog of 3 million songs, 2 million of which are independent songs in MP3 format. Syntax will continue to add tracks to PassAlong’s catalog as the label grows and expands.
“We recognized a long time ago that MP3s were the future of digital downloads,” said Jaworski. “As the concept of the Connected Consumer™ ecosystem grows and consumers begin to demand interoperability across devices our partnerships with labels like Syntax give us a distinct advantage in the digital marketplace.”
