Pinecastle’s Bobby & Teddi Cyrus Collaborate With Billy Ray Cyrus On New Single
August 6, 2021
Marking his foray into both the bluegrass and traditional gospel genres, Billy Ray Cyrus takes a small departure from his recent “Old Town Road”/”Mama Said Knock You Out” flavors and returns to his Kentucky roots—along with a Cyrus family collaboration—on “Roll That Rock” (Pinecastle Records, 8/13/21). This new gospel-infused, alt-country acoustic song was co-written and recorded by Billy Ray with younger cousin Bobby Cyrus. CLICK HERE to stream/buy the single now.
People Magazine exclusively premiered the track on their website the day before the official worldwide release, which dropped Friday, Aug. 13, 2021. Also, listen to “Roll That Rock” on Spotify‘s Faithful Melodies playlist today, featured as this week’s cover song.
The duo will make their Grand Ole Opry debut on August 13, in addition to CMT Television premiering the official music video to a worldwide audience on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Bobby & Teddi Cyrus, a newly formed duo—in addition to being newlyweds—are recent signees to South Carolina-based bluegrass label Pinecastle Records, having just released their debut self-titled album in April 2021. With “Roll That Rock,” fans—both new and old—get a brief but deeper glimpse into the Cyrus family musical roots of Kentucky bluegrass, stringed/acoustic instrumentation, and timeless gospel messages.
