The Hip-Hop Label Inks New Distribution Deal
Syntax takes a trip back to its hip-hop roots with the signing of Collision Records—once again growing its roster of distribution clients. The first album comes from rising star, Atlanta’s own “blue collar emcee” Alex Faith. ATLast drops November 5th on Syntax’s vast network of digital service providers, including iTunes.
“My team and I are excited and ready to combine our industry experience with Collision’s ability to find and develop relevant talent,” says Syntax CEO Tim Trudeau.
Collision Founder Adam Thomason says, “We believe Syntax is a pillar in the marketplace with a progressive means of marketing while maintaining a high level of honor.”
Thomason is thrilled to find a distribution partner like Syntax that is in it for the long haul. “They have a passion for progressing God’s kingdom, not just making money,” he says. “I believe they have the character and integrity to do what’s right when no one is looking, which is rare.”
Trudeau adds, “Almost as quickly as Collision became one of the top labels in our scene, Adam has learned how to run a tight and professional operation.”
Collision Records is no stranger to success. Alex Faith is part of WLAK (We Live as Kings) along with fellow Collision recording artists Swoope, Christon Gray, and Dre Murray. WLAK’s self-titled album debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart in March of 2013.
The highly anticipated solo effort from Faith is poised for the top of the charts as well. “Alex Faith is an unfiltered, transparent hip-hop artist who tells stories in a manner that is reflective of his life experiences,” says Thomason. “I believe ATLast will brand his story and sound and will be our best album yet. It is a game changer.”
“Hip-hop isn’t dead, but it could use a transfusion,” says Trudeau. “That’s exactly what our partnership with Collision will do. It will pump new, healthy blood into the hip-hop scene.”
Collision Records is more than a label; it’s a lifestyle. Its mission is to collide the truth of the gospel with the culture through music—high in craft, potent in content. Collision Records is a family of artists including Alex Faith, Swoope, and Christon Gray. Founded by Adam Thomason in 2009, the label seeks to be a home for music that is unfiltered in Jesus content and stands out with authenticity and relevance.
