Tammy Rogers, Thomm Jutz, Americana, folk, acoustic, Mountain Fever Records, Syntax Creative - imageMountain Fever Music Group announces the signing Tammy Rogers & Thomm Jutz to their Mountain Fever label. Their first single, “I Surely Will Be Singing,” is scheduled to release September 21, 2021, named from their new album, Surely Will Be Singing, expected early 2022.

According to Rogers & Jutz, “‘I Surely Will Be Singing’ was inspired by the realization that bird life blossomed significantly during the pandemic,” possibly due to less traffic, etc. “As people spent more time at home or outside during lockdown, they were more likely to notice that abundance,” added Jutz.

“This song also talks about playing music—not just because it’s a career—but singing, playing and creating because that’s what you were created for. It’s a simple song, really. We’re so influenced by old music that simplicity is something we’re always looking for.”

The pair met in 2016 when seated together at a music industry gala, yet their creative paths had run parallel for many years. Rogers may be best known as a co-founder and fiddler in the GRAMMY Award-winning bluegrass band, The Steeldrivers. Meanwhile, GRAMMY-nominated Jutz toured as a guitarist for Mary Gauthier, Nanci Griffith, and David Olney before developing a reputation as one of bluegrass music’s most prolific songwriters. At the end of that industry event, they exchanged phone numbers and wrote together for some time. Five years later, they’re still collaborating on a near-weekly basis. Among a catalog of more than 140 songs, they selected a dozen of the best for Surely Will Be Singing.
