The Chuck Wagon Gang’s recording of ‘I’ll Fly Away’ to be inducted into GRAMMY Hall Of Fame

Mountain Home Music Company recording artist The Chuck Wagon Gang saw great success in 2019 with the release of their album, No Depression In Heaven: The Gospel Songs Of The Carter Family (STREAM/BUY), which quickly claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart and reached #2 on Billboard‘s Southern Gospel Chart.

Now, they’ll be adding another accolade to their already storied career as the group’s recording of “I’ll Fly Away”—written by Albert Brumley in 1932 and recorded by The Chuck Wagon Gang with its original members in 1948—will be inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.

After its founding by the Recording Academy‘s National Trustees in 1973, the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame has honored recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old. Inductees are selected annually by a special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.

Since 1936, The Chuck Wagon Gang has put hope, harmony, faith and family at the center of their music. Today in its third generation, the group carries on the American roots tradition of singing songs from the heart and telling stories of life’s struggles, themes seen on No Depression In Heaven: The Gospel Songs Of The Carter Family.

A rich tribute to the Carter Family’s entire generation-spanning legacy, this album features songs that highlight The Chuck Wagon Gang’s well-known style of four-part harmony vocals and their signature guitar accompaniment. Their style adds yet another dimension of tribute to the Carter Family that’s sure to please connoisseurs of the legendary group’s history, who will easily hear echoes of the second generation Carter Family sound, created by Mother Maybelle with daughters Helen, Anita and June, and at one time even incorporated the guitar of Chet Atkins.
