January 3, 2019 | Travianna Records is pleased to bring fans the much-anticipated new single from The Wildmans. “Rock of Ages” (STREAM/BUY) is a cover of the beautifully haunting song written by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings that was originally released in 1998. This is the band’s first single from their upcoming self-titled project that will be released later this spring.
“Rock of Ages” features the talents of Aila Wildman (fiddle and lead vocal), Eli Wildman (mando and harmony vocal), Sean Newman (bass and harmony vocal), Nick Faulk (percussion), and Victor Furtado (banjo) – winner of the 2019 Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo & Bluegrass. About The Wildmans | Featuring the skilled and award-winning talents of Eli and Aila Wildman (multiple blue-ribbon winners at major bluegrass festivals since 2017) and Victor Furtado—winner of the 2019 Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo (among other accolades)—this new quartet (also featuring Sean Newman on bass) is primed for a breakthrough in 2020.
