Are Your Partners Incentivized?

March 29, 2023

When distributors get paid up front, there’s no incentive to maintain quality.

Consider the hosting costs for an insane amount of inactive music. This could be a part of the royalty pool or invested back into the platform.

DSPs will become weary of others charging for access to their platform and their labor. They’ll end up creating an aggressive filtering system or cut off bad players.

I’ve always been about the long play. I mean that both ways. Consistency as currency. That’s why we leverage our deals to incentivize everyone seated at the table.

For artists, that means to make great music. For the DSPs that means to position and highlight the music well. And for ourselves, that means to work hard long after the delivery and release week.

This makes the labor an investment and not the service.
