As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s the perfect time to be thinking about how to give thanks by giving back and better yet—allowing the chance for all of your fans to rally around a cause that you truly believe in.

First, what is GivingTuesday? According to, it’s “a day that encourages people to do good. [Since 2012] it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.”

Facebook Video or Facebook Live Video + Donate button or Fundraiser link: Posting a video with a link to a Fundraiser link or with a Donate button is a great way to drive a sense of urgency and true understanding of your passion for the cause.

CONTENT IDEAS: Start with your passion, decide how you want to express it, and then find the content format that fits.

FUN FB LIVE or FB VIDEO: make it fun by going live and using the immediacy to spur on donations, or record an engaging edited video that will go viral (either can include the Donate button to a general charity or a link to a specific FB Fundraiser)
HEARTFELT VIDEO or HEARTFELT NEWS FEED POST: tell your fans, from your heart, why this charity means so much to you – nothing is more effective!
