May 16, 2022
As we’re getting ever-closer to the midpoint of 2022, that means summer is quickly approaching. Among some of the strongest summer memories year in and year out are, of course, the music!
Making for a memorable early summer release week, our digital partners at Spotify and TIDAL are feeling the vibes—and showing some love! Responding to the much anticipated May 13, 2022 release for Tray Wellington—his Mountain Home Music Company debut LP, Black Banjo—Spotify caps the week off with featuring Tray on its Grass Roots playlist cover.

TIDAL is also getting behind Black Banjo. In addition to adding it to the featured New Albums list on its Folk/Americana genre page, Wellington is also represented on the Beyond Bluegrass playlist cover. CLICK HERE to listen to “Crooked Mind” on TIDAL’s Beyond Bluegrass.
Also making memories this week was Christian Hip Hip newcomer, Vic Lucas—with his second single in as many as two weeks, “Who?” TIDAL has featured Vic on the cover of their newly-named Christian Rap playlist this week—CLICK HERE to listen to “Who?” on the playlist.
Nigerian-born, South African-raised, and now calling “Music City, U.S.A.” (Nashville, TN) his home, Vic Lucas’ well-traveled experiences is infused into his diverse musical styles. Finally, Pandora‘s New Christian Hip Hop Now playlist is still feeling the love from last week’s new release from Tylerhateslife, “the real thicc shady.” For a second week in a row, the song is placed in the #1 position, along with the featured cover spot. Lucas’ “Who?” is up next, at the #2 position in the playlist.
