Brand Nubian’s Sadat X and L.A. emcee Jurny Big appear on this Illect Recordings remake of the Sebastian Hochstein’s track,“Flowers,” all anchored by Illect’s own and premiere Canadian producer Newselph. Released Friday, June 24, 2022, the EP contains both the remix and instrumental version of the remix.

Audiophile outfit Earmilk dug the vibe, and featured it in their publication on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, written by staffer Tayo Odutola. Newselph has a one of a kind gift to be able to capture the raw and the refined in a single beat. After spending ten years in a self-imposed creative exile perfecting his craft, he emerged from beneath piles of snow with an array of samples, breaks, and bars to speak life into the listener’s ear. His inspirations include cultural cornerstones like Mos Def and Deepspace5, as well as Canadian mainstays like Shad and Rel McCoy. As a producer, rapper, and reverend, he knows that excellence is all in the execution as he skillfully creates art that has copious amounts of bounce and purpose.
