“WINGS” is a song based on the life of Cindy Morgan’s father. He grew up in Harlan County Ky. He hated it and loved it, but ultimately, there was too much bad to stay. He ended up passing away in Kentucky and is buried under a giant oak tree in the hills. It is also connected to Morgan’s novel The Year of Jubilee, as she modeled the father character after her dad. Featured artist Tom Douglas is a massive country music writer penning huge hits like “The House that Built Me,” “Little Rock,” and “Make Him Wait.”
