“Take Me Away” is a heartfelt ballad about a man who is lost and searching for a place to call home. With a ticket in his hand and a bag in the backseat, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, hoping to find peace and solace on the open road. The song’s poignant lyrics and soulful melody capture the bittersweet emotions of a wanderer’s journey.
Though he’s released plenty of solo recordings over the years, Darren Nicholson is taking a big new step with his first album release after concluding a 15-year tenure as a founding member of award-winning bluegrass quintet, Balsam Range. “Wanderer has been an absolute joy from beginning to end,” he concludes. “Writing and crafting all original music has become such a passion for me, and to see these songs turn out like this feels really good.” The common thread is that they’re all songs about life: happiness, hardships, love and hope.
