“Share the Load” has an Americana sound, rooted in a soulful combination of pain and hope. This song was written as a letter of encouragement to Brumley’s father while he was in the hospital after a suicide attempt. His family makes an appearance at the end of the song singing, “You’re My Best Friend.”
