N8 doesn’t label himself a gospel artist. The Brooklyn native doesn’t like labels, so he lets others do the labeling. Creatively, he was inspired by artists like Bob Marley and Anita Baker and a variety of other R & B artists. This might explain why this artist, rapper, poet and songwriter is so versatile as an emcee. He first came on the scene as one third of the local DMV hip-hop trio, LPF (Liberated People’s Foundation). His group has been the opening act for major recording artists like Talib Kweli, Raheem Devaughn and Wale. The group was almost signed to Def Jam Island Records, right before they disbanded in 2006. But N8 continues to find his place in music. His clever wordplay & delivery always surfaced with a positive message for all. The Forbidden Door is an album that is for both sides of music. The saved and unsaved. It helps to understand how some people may struggle. But the message in every song is that the best way through the struggle is with Jesus. From beginning to end this album takes you on a great ride to understanding the glory of Jesus Christ.
