DESCRIPTION:

The group wrote this song right after Deanie Richardson’s dad passed away. He was verbally, emotionally, and sexually abusive during her 18 years of living at home. When she confronted him as an adult, he said that it had been done to him as a child. This song is about generational trauma that keeps getting passed down. Deanie learned that the trauma and abuse stop when you take responsibility. During the instrumental fade at the end, she felt like she was talking directly to her dad.
