DESCRIPTION:

Nashville-based The Barefoot Movement have teamed up again with charity Soles for Souls for their project, Covers for a Cause. Kind-of going “hand-in-hand,” if you will, with the organizations’ namesakes, the Barefooters are donating proceeds from this project to this local organization which provides shoes for those in need. Previous recent releases have covered The Beatles, Tim McGraw and CCR.

“On the Turning Away” (Pink Floyd) is one of the first songs Noah Walls ever learned to play and sing on the guitar. During the pandemic, the covers they were recording were mostly requested by fans. But we chose this one ourselves the week of George Floyd’s death. “This song always reminds me to stop and look around at what’s going on around me,” Wall says. “I think it really captured what we were feeling during such an emotional time in our country.”
