Inspired by the lingering impact of Hurricane Helene and working people, “Refugee” reflects on hard lessons learned over generations. It calls listeners to focus on their common concern—the plight of the working men and women who invested in a dream that left them behind. Driven by Audie McGinnis’s strong lead and classic bluegrass instrumentation, the song is a defiant plea for unity.
