“What Kind of Memory Will You Be” opens Gena Britt’s second solo album with a look at love, loss, and the mark we leave on one another. Written years earlier by her Sister Sadie bandmate Dani Flowers, the song asks timeless questions—when a relationship ends, will the memories bring comfort or regret? The song captures the bittersweet reality that not every bond lasts, but every bond does shape us. In the studio, the track became one of Gena’s personal favorites on the album.

Gena has been a part of Petticoat Junction, North Carolina’s New Vintage, Lou Reid & Carolina, Alan Bibey & Grasstowne, and is currently forming her own band.
In 2012, she helped to found GRAMMY-nominated Sister Sadie, with whom she still records and performs. The band has earned IMBA Vocal Group of the Year (2019, 2020, 2021) and IMBA Entertainer of the Year (2020).
In total, Gena has earned seven IBMA awards. Her accolades also include Recorded Event and Album of the Year awards, as well as a Banjo Player of the Year trophy from SPBGMA.
