DESCRIPTION:

The idea for “The Devil Went Down to Deep Gap” sparked when Bryan Sutton reimagined the Charlie Daniels Band classic as a playful tribute to bluegrass legend Doc Watson. In this version, the Devil heads to Watson’s hometown of Deep Gap, North Carolina, only to be outplayed by the flatpicking master himself. The track is driven by fiery solos from Sutton and Billy Strings, and features legend Del McCoury on vocals. Sutton himself is a GRAMMY winner and nine-time IBMA Guitar Player of the Year.
