Syntax Creative Clients Take 45 Nominations for the 35th Annual IBMA Awards

Raised in Eden, North Carolina, the hometown of Charlie Poole, Jesse Smathers offers a spirited take on a favorite from the legendary banjo picker. “Take a Drink on Me” is a mash-up of bluegrass and old-time string band music. Drawing from the 1920s Piedmont mill music and the North Carolina Ramblers, this recording captures the lively, communal spirit that first inspired Smathers and continues to guide him.
