DESCRIPTION:

“Something Real” is a confession tracing the quiet loop of getting drunk, or high, and still feeling disconnected from everyone. Embleton grounds the song in telling moments—passing out in front of friends, watching conversations from the edge, and scrolling instead of showing up. When a friend suddenly dies, the narrator is jarred from his numb routine into the terrifying reality that time is running out. In the closing lines, the narrator realizes he’s not strong enough to fix it alone.

Kevin Embleton is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, producer, and frontman of the indie folk-rock project Embleton. Since launching in 2015, he’s released three albums. His sound blends the warmth of folk and Americana with the structure of indie rock, shaped by life on the road. Kevin values real instruments, organic performances, and songs that breathe. He also has a project called “figures” with Jacob Montague and writes and produces with Messenger Music.
