The track strips away the romanticism of New York City, trading indie-rock mythology for harsh truths like weekend trains shutting down amid a desperate escape. In your head, you’re an aloof frontman; in reality, you’re just a stressed-out adult in a leather jacket with nothing left to say and no place left to live.
