THE EXTENSIONS
“I Want To Know”
DESCRIPTION:
1963’s “I Want To Know” captures the raw vulnerability of longing in love. The singer pleads for reassurance, asking if their partner shares the same feelings, creating a poignant sense of insecurity. With repeated calls for affection, the lyrics evoke nostalgia for a time when love was certain and fulfilling. The yearning for emotional and physical closeness paints a picture of heartache and hope, making this track a timeless exploration of desire and the complexities of romantic relationships.
Formed with two teenage sisters and their brother from Des Moines, IA in 1963, The Extensions were a short-lived group that recorded only two songs ever. Those two songs, however, have more than stood the test of time as they’ve found an audience with oldies enthusiasts all over the world.
