Entertainment news site, The Boot, has named the latest release from The Grascals among one of the most highly anticipated albums of the new year. A reader poll to determine The Boot’s first Album of the Month for 2016 pitted the multi-award-winning acoustic band against The Brothers Osborne, The Randy Rogers Band, and Hank Williams Jr., resulted in a resounding win for The Grascals with nearly 50% of the popular vote. The new album, and then there’s this…, is set for release this Friday, January 8th on the Mountain Home Music Company label.
The Grascals are three-time GRAMMY® nominees and have twice been named International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainer of the Year. They’ve made numerous appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, and many nationally syndicated TV shows. The Grascals, now in their 11th year since those early days touring with Dolly Parton, have enjoyed numerous number one songs and top-charting albums. This highly-anticipated new release continues the groups’ legacy as one of the most powerful and groundbreaking bands in Bluegrass.
Since their last album, 2013’s When I Get My Pay, The Grascals have welcomed the very gifted John Bryan on vocals and guitar. A grand-nephew of Doc Watson, John joins the tight-knit group that is comprised of Terry Smith, Danny Roberts, Kristin Scott Benson, Terry Eldredge, and Adam Haynes.
A mix of songs written by band members, and by some other bluegrass greats, combine with the Grascals’ award-winning instrumental prowess and harmony to create and then there’s this… which is arguably the most exciting and traditional new release from this beloved band.
To celebrate the new release, the Grascals will appear on The Grand Ole Opry and host a meet & greet with fans on Friday evening. They may also be heard on WSM Radio Friday morning in the 9am hour when they guest on the Coffee, Country & Cody morning show.
