JIM HURST
From the Ground Up
DESCRIPTION:
ABOUT the focus track, “Train of Trouble” | Things, unfortunately, aren’t always as they seem. In Jim Hurst‘s focus track for upcoming LP, From the Ground Up (Pinecastle, 7/1), he uses the metaphor of a slick, shiny train coming down the tracks—”rolling, with a great, big head of steam”—for, well, let’s just say a witchy woman. Although enticing from the outside, this “train” is full of trouble, and the songwriting expertly explains the implied symbolism. Additionally, Hurst’s stringwork is what is seems, and is on point as ever.
