LORRAINE JORDAN & CAROLINA ROAD
“A Little Bit Of Bluegrass”
DESCRIPTION:
When songwriter David Stewart’s mother was in her 80s, she was very ill. On Sundays, Stewart would call her to chat for as long as she could stay on the phone. One Sunday, when he asked how she was feeling, she replied, “Oh honey, I am not feeling good at all. I feel like an old penny waiting on change.” Stewart carried that line around for 20 years before finally writing it with Brink Brinkman.
If a song was written about the life and times of Lorraine Jordan, it would be a spirited mix of her driving mandolin, lightning-speed banjo, a bit of country pedal steel, and soulful vocals that seem to go on forever. To say Lorraine is an original would be the understatement of the decade. She not only thinks outside of the box, she builds new boxes.
