DESCRIPTION:
Paying homage to the Bill Emerson original, the Pinecastle Records stable of pickers drops this version of “Welcome to New York” in anticipation of the company’s upcoming new full-length on its popular thematic “Bluegrass” collaborations, Bluegrass 2022 (Pinecastle, 6/3). Originally recorded in ’70, the song begins in the key of D and features an unusual chord progression incorporating a G minor chord after D-C-G-D.
