“Colorado Bound”
DESCRIPTION:
“Colorado Bound” tells the story of Fred’s grandfather, Al Kosak, driving from Duluth, MN to the Pacific Ocean in the 50s. He took the family Ford wagon and kept his speed at 35 mph as he thought it would give him the best gas mileage. We don’t know how long it took, but he eventually made it to the coast. The wallpaper pattern used on the artwork comes from the Diamond Belle Saloon, the Strater Hotel’s iconic piano bar in downtown Durango, CO—a piece of local history.
