“Mountain” is going to be a new one for many in the bluegrass world, but shares many of the traits that we’ve come to love. This alt-rock hit from the ultra-talented group Tonic has gotten the grass treatment. It’s got stellar musicianship, exciting vocals and a killer groove. “This one was a joy for all of us to cut in the studio. Josh Shilling was the perfect guy to sing it, and as you will hear, he made it his own in the best of ways,” says Lowe.
Listeners may recognize Andy Lowe’s signature hard-hitting banjo style from his days as a member of the Deer Creek Boys. They released three critically acclaimed albums for Mountain Fever Records. The group is currently on hiatus but we think bluegrass fans will be delighted to hear from Andy. He has carried the same punch and passion into this solo effort.
