BOONE & FOSTER
Smoky Mountain Favorites
DESCRIPTION:
“Uncle Pen” was written by Bill Monroe in 1950 and was one of Frosty Foster’s favorites. It was on regular rotation for the Dreamcatcher band playing live at the venue. The song was about his Uncle Pendleton Vandiver, who was a fiddle player. The song has become a bluegrass classic and has been covered by many artists, including Ricky Skaggs and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Rickey Wasson did an incredible job on the lead vocal on this track.
Smoky Mountain Favorites by Boone & Foster is the long-awaited and emotional new album that was years in the making, honoring the memory of the late Aaron “Frosty” Foster, who unexpectantly passed away in early 2021.
