DESCRIPTION:

Geary & John bring an intimate, stripped-down approach to the American classic “Miss the Mississippi and You.” Geary handles the vocals, relaying the woes of a traveler weary of big city lights and homesick for the river shore. Recorded in a single take with no overdubs — featuring just two vintage Martin guitars — the track relies on the duo’s spontaneous chemistry. By paring the arrangement down to its bare essentials, Geary & John deliver a warm tribute to the home and love left behind.

Geary & John are two guitarists who draw from classic country and bluegrass. By taking popular American folk standards (Louvin Brothers, Jim & Jesse, The Stanley Brothers) and stripping the arrangements down to just two guitars and vocals, they let listeners experience these songs more intimately. Their music is fun and spontaneous, relying on their chemistry and improvised playing.
