A recent Top 40 American Idol finalist and latest signee to Mountain Fever Records, the 23 year-old Mason Via (pronounced VIGH) has acoustic music in his roots (and blood) and leads with debut single “Big City.” Perhaps a nod to his transition from a rural North Carolina upbringing to fully immersing himself into a career in music, this up-tempo, folky acoustic jam showcases Via’s strengths as a singer and instrumentalist. “Big City, here I come,” is declared on the choruses surrounded by superior solo stringwork.
