“Drop Dead Gorgeous” is a blast from my teenage past, says Andy Lowe. “It has a decidedly rock background but I’ve always enjoyed its catchiness and thought I could give it the bluegrass makeover.” The original cut had a female-driven vocal, and Lowe wanted to stick with that. Amanda Cook was generous enough to step out of her comfort zone and knock this one out of the park!

Listeners may recognize Andy Lowe’s signature hard-hitting banjo style from his days as a member of the Deer Creek Boys. They released three critically acclaimed albums for Mountain Fever Records. The group is currently on hiatus but we think bluegrass fans will be delighted to hear from Andy. He has carried the same punch and passion into this solo effort.
